About Mindy

Meet Mindy Willis, M.OMSc

Mindy Willis is a Manual Osteopathic Therapist dedicated to helping people reduce pain, restore mobility, and improve their overall health through personalized, hands-on treatment.

A graduate of the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy, Mindy completed her studies with honours in 2024 and was awarded the prestigious A.T. Still Medal of Honour for academic excellence.

Her practice is rooted in the principles of Classical Osteopathy, where every treatment considers the body as an interconnected system. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, Mindy works to identify and address the underlying restrictions that may be affecting your body's ability to heal and function naturally.

Prior to her journey into Osteopathy, Mindy was a certified Yoga Instructor with over 20 years of experience, including operating her own Yoga Studio, yoga classes, workshops, retreats and yoga teacher training programs.

What is Osteopathy?

A Whole-Body Approach to Health

Manual Osteopathy is a gentle, hands-on therapy that focuses on improving the body's structure, movement, and natural ability to heal itself.

Rather than treating only the area where pain is felt, osteopathic treatment looks at how different systems throughout the body work together. Restrictions in one area can often affect movement and function elsewhere.

The goal is to restore balance throughout the body, improve mobility, reduce pain, and support optimal circulation, nerve function, and overall health.

What to Expect

Your First Visit

Your first visit is designed to understand your goals, assess how your body is moving, and guide treatment at a comfortable pace.

Thorough assessment

Mindy reviews your history, listens to what you are experiencing, and observes how your body moves before treatment begins.

Individualized treatment

Treatment may vary depending on your body's needs that day. Some treatments are shorter and more focused, while others may involve additional hands-on work.

Positive change

The goal is to provide enough treatment to encourage positive change while allowing your body the opportunity to adapt naturally.

Frequently Asked Questions

Before your appointment

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily, such as athletic wear, yoga pants, jogging pants, shorts, or a t-shirt. Please avoid restrictive clothing like jeans or dress pants. Dresses are welcome if shorts are worn underneath, and please bring or wear socks.

How long are appointments?

Treatment length varies depending on your body's needs. Every appointment is customized, and the amount of treatment provided is based on what your body can respond to comfortably.

Can I exercise after treatment?

It's generally recommended to let your body rest and begin its natural healing process after treatment. If you plan to exercise that day, it's usually better to do so before your appointment.

How can I support my recovery?

Simple activities can help your body respond well to treatment:

  • Take a short walk
  • Stay hydrated
  • Enjoy a warm Epsom salt bath or shower
  • Get a good night's sleep

Is soreness normal?

Yes. Some people experience mild soreness, stiffness, fatigue, or even increased energy during the first 24 to 36 hours after treatment. These responses are generally temporary and are part of your body's adjustment process.

Is Osteopathy covered by insurance?

Many extended health benefit plans include coverage for Manual Osteopathy. Coverage varies between providers, so we recommend checking directly with your insurance company before your appointment.

How often should I come?

Treatment frequency depends on your individual condition and how your body responds. Many patients begin with weekly appointments before transitioning to longer intervals as they improve. Your treatment plan will always be personalized to your goals and progress.

What forms of payment are available?

Payments can be made by cash or cheque before the start of your treatment, or by e-transfer to mindy.menard@yahoo.com.
